Why Pos Malaysia? (Part 1)

I have renewed my roadtax on 4th September 2008 and by right I am entitle to claim my cash rebate. One of my friend told me that I can claim my rebate 3 days after roadtax renewal. At first I tought of direct credit into my bank account via posonline. But then, a few of my friends suggested to go directly to po and get the cash.

"Don't trust their online system, penipu. They said the money will be credited to my account after 3days, but after a week, i still didn't get it. I went to po and they said some 'error' with their online system. They gave me cash money immediately at the counter instead" my friend said.

I went to Pos KLCC last Thursday and wasted one hour time waiting for my number to be called. Ms."I-Don't Know-I-Am-Just-Doing-My-Job" at Pos KLCC said my car number was not in their system. I told her that I renewed my roadtax 4 days ago. But she said their new system can only captured data from JPJ 7 days after renewal date. I have an immediate instinct that this rebate thing ain't going to be easy as it seems.

So if my calculation is right, I can go to any PO to claim my rebate on 15th September 2008. I don't want to waste my time at PO again, so I opt for direct transfer this time. I logged in to that pos online portal, typed my car number, and this message appeared:

"Your vehicle data do not exist in JPJ system. Please visit the nearest JPJ branch to check status of your cash rebate."

I am fasting, I have to be more patience and keep myself from cursing bad words in this holy month.

I called the JPJ hotline number to check on my status. Puan 'Saya-Pun-Tak-Tahu-Saya-Ikut-Je-System-Ni' said my car details is already in the data system and it has been sent to Pos Malaysia. She can't do anything, and suggested me to call Pos Malaysia to check further on my status.

"Saya pun tak tahu Cik. Ni Pos punya system yg problem ni. Ada yang seminggu, ada 2 minggu. Tapi kalau nak senang, cik tunggu jerlah lepas sebulan. 'Biasa'nya lepas sebulan nama Cik mesti dah masuk kat system diaorang" Puan 'Saya-Pun-Tak-Tahu-Saya-Ikut-Je-System-Ni' said.

Patience is a half of Iman.

Then I called Pos Malaysia hotline. Ms "I-Am-Not-Sure,-I-Am-Just-Doing-My-Job" took my details.

"Kita akan check, tapi 'biasa' memang ambik masa yang lama ni Cik. Saya tak pasti bila boleh tahu" Ms "I-Am-Not-Sure,-I-Am-Just-Doing-My-Job" said

I asked for the report or reference number, so I can follow up later.

"Oh kita memang takder report number. Takper Cik, nanti kita call bila dah check. Tapi memang ambik masa yang lama ya Cik. Memang lama"

I asked patiently how lama is her 'lama'. I asked again how do I know that my report has been submitted and how do I refer to my case if I want to follow up later.

"Memang lama la Cik. Saya tak pasti. Takper Cik, nanti kita call. Cik tunggu jerlah. Tapi ambik masa lama sikit ya" Ms "I-Am-Not-Sure,-I-Am-Just-Doing-My-Job" said
.............

So here I am, still waiting for Pos to call me back to update my status. I could not understand, why Pos Malaysia? Why don't just let JPJ alone to handle this cash rebate, since they have the vehicle data? Why have to waste time and complicate the work by sending my data to here and there? Why can't they just let one party to handle this? Why? Why? and Why?

"I don't know, I am just doing my job"........
